Who we are
At Umkho-AI, we’re building more than just technology - we’re creating a movement.
A movement towards African independence and self-sustainability, driven by cutting-edge AI solutions that empower governments to serve their people better, free from the constraints of the West and East.
Inspired by the spirit of resistance, Umkho-AI aims to reverse the effects of the Berlin Conference and reassert Africa’s sovereignty by equipping public institutions with the tools they need to make independent, data-driven decisions that reflect the needs and values of African communities.
At just 21 she combines five years of legal expertise - including international law, corporate restructuring, and immigration with hands on experience in international relations and strategic leadership.
With a bachelor's in International Management & Business from the Paris School of Business she is taking her experience abroad and bringing it home.
Our Founder
and her inspirations
“Tech for Africans, by Africans, is not enough. We need technology that protects our land, our governments, and our people - because Western nations have repeatedly shown they will not.”
-Kaykay Baloyi
Inspired by her grandfather, Stanley Ndlovu Modise the late and great uMkhontoweSizwe soldier who fought for South Africa’s liberation during apartheid. He used to say,
"Africa is not free until we lead, and each time we try, we are killed." She took it upon herself to create something that could not be killed: an AI -UmkhoAI
